CAT Engineer

Position: CAT Engineer (Contract)
PVITC / CAT Engineer – BEV Propulsion & Vehicle Testing

We are recruiting for a PVITC / CAT Engineer to support Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) propulsion and charging systems within a leading automotive engineering environment.

This role focuses on Customer Acceptance Testing (CAT) and first-level (L0) issue triage, supporting vehicle users and engineering teams to ensure propulsion and charging issues are analysed, documented and routed effectively.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform L0 triage and analysis of propulsion and charging system issues

* Support vehicle-level testing across BEV platforms

* Analyse test data using INCA or equivalent tools

* Ensure high-quality data capture, reporting and issue tracking

* Liaise with propulsion, software integration, vehicle engineering and quality teams

* Support issue replication on vehicles or test rigs where required

* Contribute to CAT process metrics and reporting

Essential Experience

* Experience in BEV / EV propulsion or powertrain systems

* Background in vehicle testing, validation or integration

* Hands-on use of INCA, ETAS or similar data analysis tools

* Strong understanding of vehicle systems and diagnostics

* Structured problem-solving approach in a technical environment

* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

* Full UK driving licence

Desirable

* High-voltage system or component testing experience

* Automotive OEM or Tier-1 supplier background

This is a hands-on engineering role, ideal for candidates who enjoy vehicle testing, issue triage and real-world problem solving rather than pure calibration or research work.
