What You'll DoAs a Digital Manufacturing Engineer you will build advanced digital models for a large-scale cell manufacturing environment. This role focuses on developing detailed, accurate simulations—from discrete-event DES models to 3D virtual commissioning—to support equipment design, line balancing, layout optimisation, and factory‑level decision making. You will help define the modelling standards, create reusable frameworks, and play a key part in establishing a robust simulation capability for the factory.
This is a hybrid role, with up to 80% remote if necessary. Occasional visits to other Agratas sites in the UK and other overseas suppliers/vendors may be required.

The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset.
TheTeam You'll Join
The Process Engineering team is a dynamic group working across a range of areas such as electrode, cell assembly, FA&T (formation, ageing and testing), control and automation, manufacturing systems, digital manufacturing, process safety and logistics engineering. Being a relatively new team, you’ll play a critical part in creating processes and help building large‑scale manufacturing lines from the ground up.
What You'll Bring- Experience in DES and manufacturing process simulation within Siemens Tecnomatix Plant Simulation or Dassault 3
DEXPERIENCE, or equivalent platforms. - Proven background in industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering, with deep understanding of production systems, cycle time analysis, OEE, buffers, throughput and constraints.
- Demonstrated ability to model complex manufacturing environments such as cell production, continuous flow, or multi‑stage assembly systems.
- Solid coding ability in Python (or similar), familiarity with SQL, data analytics, and Excel‑based modelling.
- Experience working with automation concepts, PLC logic understanding, or controls integration.
