Technology Transfer Engineer - Product / Industrial Design )
Responsibilities- Join the Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) SME Group to assist in the delivery of SME programmes as a design-led Technology Transfer Engineer.
- Help manufacturing SMEs become more productive and competitive; accelerate SME economic growth through research-led innovation.
- Work with local manufacturers to create new products, improve existing designs and speed up their New Product Development cycle.
- Carry out the design and development of new products and provide manufacturing recommendations for client environments.
- Degree level qualification in a relevant subject with applied industrial design experience.
- Experience in design and development of new products and making manufacturing recommendations.
- Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
- One or more of the following:
- Computer-aided design (CAD)
- Design for Manufacture (including manufacturing of polymer products)
- Design for Assembly
- Mechanical design/engineering
- Experience of prototyping, specifically Additive Manufacture
- Communicate expertise and experience from boardroom to technician.
- Apply knowledge to the development of new products, physical prototypes and manufacturing processes.
- Use relevant technologies and software to support innovative design solutions.
- Work on multiple concurrent projects with short timescales (typically 10–15 days).
