Position: Associate Professor (Teaching Focussed) in Accounting (110363-0326)

About The Role

We are seeking to appoint an Associate Professor (Teaching Track) in Accounting. The successful candidate will have a strong record of engaging in teaching financial accounting and financial reporting across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, using a range of relevant and effective teaching methods.

Flexible Working

The Role Includes The Following Responsibilities
  • Design teaching material and deliver across a range of modules.
  • Set, mark and assess work and examinations and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student projects, and placements, where appropriate.
  • Identify areas where curricula are in need of revision or improvement.
  • Extend, transform and apply knowledge acquired from scholarship to teaching and appropriate external activities.
  • Act as a personal tutor, being responsible for the pastoral care of students.
  • Undertake specific departmental roles as may be required.
About You

You will have:

  • Proven ability and achievements in teaching financial accounting and financial reporting. Experience in teaching related subjects such as audit, management accounting and tax is desirable.
  • The ability to deliver teaching across a full range of programmes and levels.
  • Good honours degree and a relevant professional qualification or PhD.
  • Proven track record of initiating appropriate curriculum developments in response to changes in the regulatory and professional environment.
  • Experience in curriculum and course design, including the integration of current accounting regulations, theory and practice.
  • A commitment to using innovative, student-focused teaching approaches.
  • Proven track record in fostering relationships with professional accounting bodies.
