PSHE Teacher – SEND School

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate PSHE Teacher to start as soon as possible on a full-time basis until at least Easter, working within one of our partner SEND schools in Coventry.

This specialist provision supports pupils aged 7–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Attachment Difficulties (AD). The school provides a supportive and structured environment designed to help students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential.

This role offers a competitive daily rate of £160 – £230, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum Planning and Delivery
Plan and deliver engaging and accessible PSHE lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEND.

Individualised Learning Support
Differentiate learning to support students with varying needs, ensuring lessons remain inclusive and accessible.

Behaviour Management
Use effective strategies to manage and support behaviours associated with SEMH, ASC, ADHD, and attachment needs while promoting a positive classroom environment.

Collaborative Working
Work closely with support staff and the wider school team to provide consistent support for students.

Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Support the development and review of Individual Education Plans, helping to set achievable targets for students.

Progress Monitoring
Assess and monitor student progress, adapting teaching approaches where necessary.

Safeguarding and Wellbeing
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and support the emotional wellbeing of pupils.

Requirements

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification

* Experience working with SEND pupils, particularly those with SEMH, ASC, ADHD, or attachment needs

* Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills

* Ability to work collaboratively with support staff and the wider school team

* A commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment
