Temporary English Teacher

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Language & Literature Teacher to join our secondary school client on a long-term temporary basis, covering the absence of a permanent member of staff. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 desirable but not essential), maintaining continuity and high standards of teaching and learning.

• Teach English Language and Literature in line with the national curriculum
• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons
• Assess, monitor and report on student progress
• Maintain effective classroom management and a positive learning environment
• Work collaboratively with the English department and wider school staff
• Fulfil pastoral and safeguarding responsibilities in line with school policies

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Has experience teaching English at secondary level
• Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and a passion for English
• Is adaptable, reliable and able to step into an established role smoothly
• Has strong communication and organisational skills
