Luma Education Recruitment are working on behalf of one of our clients, a small but rapidly expanding SEN school in Coventry, to recruit a qualified SEN Teacher. The school supports pupils aged 7–18 years, although learners will be taught a earlier key stage curriculum level.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate teacher who is committed to inclusive education and is looking to make a real difference within a supportive, forward-thinking SEN setting.

• Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons aligned with a primary-level curriculum
• Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and associated learning needs
• Plan lessons in line with EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans
• Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
• Implement effective, trauma-informed behaviour management strategies
• Track progress and maintain accurate assessment and reporting records
• Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists, and senior leadership
• Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching children or young people with SEN
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• A flexible, patient, and empathetic approach to teaching
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection

• Previous experience in an SEN school, alternative provision, or specialist setting
• Confidence teaching across a wide age range at primary curriculum level
• Experience supporting pupils with complex needs or SEMH

• Competitive salary of £170 – £200 per day, depending on experience
