The Role
Applications are invited for two Assistant Professor positions in Chemistry in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Warwick. We are seeking colleagues who will establish a vigorous research program that is closely aligned to our priority research themes:
Sustainability, Energy and the Environment
, Health and Data and Modelling

Assistant Professor in Experimental Chemistry
We welcome candidates with interests in all areas of chemistry, including but not limited to Chemical, Structural and Synthetic Biology, Energy Materials, Measurement and Analytical Science, Polymers and Materials, and Synthesis and Catalysis.
Your research will benefit from our extensive instrumental facilities in Warwick’s Research Technology Platforms, but applications from candidates working in emerging fields, including flow chemistry, xolography & photochemistry, and AI-driven experimental science are also encouraged.
Post 2:Assistant Professor in Spectroscopy
We welcome candidates with experience in spectroscopy, including applications and technique/instrument development. Your research should complement our existing research profile and aim to capitalise on the existing infrastructure including, but not limited to, the Spectroscopy RTP and Warwick Centre for Ultrafast Spectroscopy RTP (WCUS). You should be interested in developing and delivering undergraduate teaching in the field of spectroscopy and/or analytical science.
You should have an outstanding record of accomplishment in both research and teaching appropriate for your career stage and demonstrate imaginative plans for how you will develop your research to complement and advance the research and teaching profile of the department. You will be expected to demonstrate an ability to attract external funding to maintain an active research programme and exhibit effectiveness and enthusiasm as a teacher of chemistry at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

You will hold a PhD in Chemistry or a related subject, have imaginative plans for research in your field and a commitment to teaching our undergraduate and postgraduate students.
You will have presented your research by publication in leading journals and at international conferences. You will show evidence of planning research that includes collaboration with other scientists, support by funding from a variety of external sources, and potential for socio-economic impact.
You should have a proven track record of accomplishment in research and commitment to teaching excellence appropriate for your career stage.
You will have experience or evidence of potential for leadership and supervision of researchers, with effective communication skills. You will be able to work collaboratively, effectively, and productively with academic and administrative colleagues.
