Broad Heath is an inner-city school supporting 680+ fantastic pupils. We are seeking a passionate, resilient, and ambitious Learning Support Assistant to join our school and inspire a generation of children. We continue to prioritise opportunities for professional growth and additional training (NPQs, subject leadership, areas of specialism e.g. SEND/EAL), and many staff are now leading on these areas in school and locally.
Whatis the job role?
The role may be full‑time or part‑time (Term Time only) and is on a Fixed Term basis (Maternity Cover), with a view to starting as soon as possible.
Duties & Responsibilities- Understand the learning intention in every lesson and the role in teaching.
- Apply equity and equal opportunities in a learning context, ensuring all children learn and inclusion is achieved.
- Offer a variety of skills that enhance children’s learning.
- Review children’s learning daily and inform the class teacher; record responses when requested.
- Keep classroom equipment orderly and maintained, ensuring none is left at the end of the day.
- Prepare equipment for the whole day’s teaching, including lifting and reorganising as needed.
- Promote learning by creating vibrant and quality displays in the class and around the school, following the school display policy.
- Collaborate with other LSAs when asked.
- Has experience of working in primary education.
- Is committed to making a difference to the outcomes for children.
- Is creative and able to motivate and inspire children to succeed and achieve.
- Is positive and has effective classroom management strategies.
- Has a commitment to raising standards and accelerating children’s progress.
- Is resilient and works well as part of a team.
- Will go the extra‑mile for our children.
