SEND Teaching Assistant

Specialist College - Coventry (CV4) - Full-Time

Long Term Futures is thrilled to offer a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join a leading specialist college supporting students aged 16‑25 with complex needs including Autism, physical disabilities, and multiple learning difficulties.

This role is central to fostering a truly inclusive and supportive environment where students are encouraged to grow in confidence, independence, and academic achievement. If you're proactive, patient, and driven to make a meaningful difference every day, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities
  • Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support, enabling students to fully engage with their learning
  • Promoting independence both in the classroom and across college life
  • Supporting differentiated and inclusive learning activities that inspire and motivate
  • Assisting students' emotional, social, and communication development to build life skills
  • Collaborating closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a seamless educational experience
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experienced or enthusiastic about supporting young people with SEN, ideally in a post-16 setting (experience is a plus, but not essential)
  • Patient, compassionate, and committed to nurturing student growth
  • Confident communicator with excellent behaviour management skills
  • Passionate about fostering student independence and personal development
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is welcomed but not required – mindset and dedication come first!
