Are you a passionate and experienced Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of primary-aged children?
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join a welcoming primary school in Coventry, supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with children who require tailored support to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within a nurturing school environment.
The Role
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with autism across EYFS, KS1, or KS2
Implement personalised learning plans and behaviour support strategies
Support communication and social interaction development
Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCO, external professionals, and parents
Help create a structured, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP reviews and reports
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition in a primary setting
A strong understanding of strategies such as visual supports, structured routines, sensory regulation approaches, and positive behaviour support
Patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification)
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
