Secondary School English Teacher

Position: Secondary School English Teacher (Contract)

The Role

As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inspiring lessons that develop students’ reading, writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities include:

* Planning and delivering high-quality, differentiated English lessons in line with the national curriculum

* Teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience welcomed where applicable)

* Encouraging a love of reading, writing and critical thinking

* Assessing, monitoring and tracking student progress to support achievement

* Creating a calm, inclusive and purposeful classroom environment

* Working collaboratively with the Head of English, Teaching Assistants and wider staff

* Adapting teaching to support students with SEND, EAL or additional learning needs

* Building strong relationships with students, parents and colleagues

* Contributing to enrichment activities such as reading initiatives, writing clubs or intervention programmes

About You

We are looking for an English Teacher who is:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) preferred – ECTs and experienced teachers encouraged to apply

* Confident teaching English Language and Literature across KS3 and KS4

* Passionate about literacy and student progress

* Calm, reflective and consistent in their approach to behaviour management

* A strong communicator who works effectively within a team

* Organised, adaptable and confident in managing classroom routines
