Aboutthe Role
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Shop & Workshop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our busy workshop and retail front counter. This is a highly customer-facing role requiring strong communication skills, proven face-to-face selling experience, and the ability to lead a team while driving commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities- Front Counter Leadership: Manage the front counter and act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a friendly and professional service.
- Staff Direction & Planning: Organise staff rotas, allocate daily tasks, and provide ongoing leadership and support to both workshop and shop teams.
- Customer Engagement: Build rapport with customers, handle enquiries, and ensure accurate communication between the workshop and clients.
- Face-to-Face Selling & Upselling: Use your sales skills to promote and upsell products and services, ensuring customers receive the best solutions while increasing business revenue.
- Hands-On Management: Assist the workshop team when needed, contributing to productivity, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring service quality.
- Operational Oversight: Maintain shop standards, manage stock levels, and oversee the smooth running of daily operations.
- Rota Working: Work as part of a rota to ensure consistent cover and exceptional customer service at all times.
- Proven automotive industry experience (essential).
- Valid driving licence (essential).
- Strong face-to-face selling and upselling skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and planning staff workloads.
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
- Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to support workshop tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Competitive salary of £40,000 to £50,000 depending on experience.
