Estimator
Main Responsibilities:
Review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and scope documents to prepare accurate cost estimates. Prepare detailed and accurate take off for quantifying materials, labour, and equipment needed for projects. Work with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and evaluate quotes. Prepare detailed tender submissions, budgets, and cost plans. Participate in pre-construction planning, including risk analysis and value engineering. Collaborate with design, production, and project management teams to refine and validate estimates.
Monitor costs during the lifecycle of a project and provide cost comparisons against estimates and Post project reviews and reports. Preparation of bid proposals and tender documentation. Maintain and update a cost database to reflect current material and labour rates. Review tender portals for new opportunities. Bid Writing Liaise and negotiate with Supply Chain. Estimator Essential Skills / Qualifications/
Experience:
Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field. 5 years of experience as an Estimator in construction, with modular or off-site construction experience preferred. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and cost drivers. Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Buildertrend, Excel). Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications. Excellent communication and time management skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy. Estimator Desirable Skills / Qualifications /
