Nursery Nurse

Responsibilities

We are looking for a level 3 nursery professional to join our team, working alongside staff in the daily running of the allocated room in the nursery.

• Support the staff rota, working across indoor and outdoor environments.
• Contribute to medium‑term planning and undertake short‑term planning using the EYFS and Birth to Five Matters.
• Review planning and activities to ensure they effectively support children.
• Maintain assessment and recording for a key group of children using the Blossom system and communicate with parents.
• Promote child development with emphasis on the EYFS and stay up to date with framework updates.
• Carry out statutory assessments in line with the EYFS.
• Establish positive relationships with parents and primary carers, encouraging involvement.
• Ensure programme of activities reflects each child's needs and facilitates development.
• Meet safety, security, nourishment, stimulation and rest requirements for all children.
• Respect children’s life experiences and celebrate cultural diversity.
• Provide for developmental needs of children aged nine months to four years.
• Follow direction from the Nursery Manager, Deputy or Team Leader to deploy staff effectively and use time efficiently.
• Deliver relevant feedback to parents at the end of the day and update display boards.
• Complete online diaries daily, recording information on sleeps, dinners, toileting, etc.
• Take shared responsibility for keeping toys, shape games and jigsaw pieces organised and rooms tidy.
• Adhere to high standards of house‑keeping and hygiene, especially around sinks and nappy changing areas.
• Undertake additional job responsibilities as assigned by the Nursery Manager or owner.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with the staff team and Nursery Manager/Deputy.
