We are working exclusively with a highly respected, privately owned FMCG business that sits at the heart of the UK food supply chain, partnering with major retailers and international manufacturers to deliver innovative private label and branded products.
This is a genuinely unique commercial role – not off‑the‑shelf sales. You will become the pivotal link between European suppliers and UK retail customers, shaping strategy, managing complex development processes, and influencing outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
You won’t be the person closing the deal with the retailer. Instead, you’ll thrive on building deep supplier relationships, navigating complexity, and driving projects forward from concept through to launch. It’s a role for someone who gets their buzz from the journey, not just the finish line.
The OpportunityAs Supplier Commercial Manager, you will:
- Build and develop long‑term strategic relationships with international suppliers
- Act as the commercial bridge between suppliers, sales, technical and development teams
- Lead private label product development activity from brief through to launch
Balance supplier ambitions with the realities of UK retail.
- Influence, problem‑solve and drive momentum across complex, multi‑stage projects
- Help shape the future supplier portfolio in line with business strategy
This is a business where collaboration is everything. Titles matter less than outcomes, and everyone rolls their sleeves up when needed.
What We’re Looking ForThis role suits someone who has:
- Experience with in FMCG / food, ideally with exposure to major UK retailers
- A strong understanding of private label or retailer‑led product development
- Excellent relationship management and communication skills
- A solution‑focused, resilient and tenacious mindset
- The ability to thrive in a role with moving parts, long timelines and high complexity
- An enjoyment of process, influence and delivery – not just the win
You might currently be an Account Manager, Commercial Manager, NPD Commercial Lead or similar, and be seeking a role with greater depth, autonomy and long‑term impact.
Package & PracticalitiesSalary: £40,000 – £50,000
Bonus:
Discretionary annual bonus plus company profit bonus
Location:
Coventry – hybrid working (minimum 3 days in the office)
Travel:
Occasional European travel (typically 23 day trips)
Permanent, full‑time role.
