Role Overview

We are looking for a Standards and Compliance Specialist to join our Mains Renewal team. The successful candidate will ensure that all mains renewal projects comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. This role owns the SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), SSOWs (Safe Systems of Work), and H&S compliance within the Mains Renewal Structure, ensuring a continuous focus on health & safety, and challenging performance and compliance.

The Specialist works predominantly with construction teams to ensure compliance and safety, creating and updating SOPs, SSOWs, Risk Assessments, and supporting documents.

Key Accountabilities
  • Compliance Monitoring:
Ensure all mains renewal activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Documentation:

  • Training and Development:
Document training requirements where required and provide guidance to construction teams on compliance requirements and best practices.
  • Regulatory Liaison:
Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies and ensure timely submission of required documentation.
  • Risk Management:

Identify potential compliance risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement:
Recommend and implement improvements to compliance processes, procedures, equipment and training.
What You’ll Bring To

Strong analytical skills are required to identify underlying causes from significant amounts of data, and excellent communication skills are necessary to convey messages to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The candidate should have a working knowledge of structures, responsibilities, and key internal stakeholders, and be able to prioritise and balance a reactive workload with challenging turnaround times.
