An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, flexible and well‑organised individual to join our friendly team as a CT MRI In‑patient Bookings Clerk.
The successful applicant will have excellent computer, organisational and communication skills and be able to work well under pressure. You will need to develop an excellent understanding of imaging patient pathways and enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role also requires confidence when liaising with patients, medical staff, general practitioners and referring hospitals.
The post holder will be expected to organise their workload effectively, contributing directly and positively to the service. You will be required to use your initiative, work independently where needed, and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.

Main duties of the job- Provide administrative and clerical support to the CT and MRI department, ensuring effective patient care.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with patients, relatives and multidisciplinary team members, using sensitivity, empathy and conflict management.
- Lead the Radiology Assistant Group and facilitate efficient imaging flow for patients requiring MRI and CT scans using the hospital IT system (RIS and Extra Med).
- Schedule patient appointments for examinations or treatments as defined by referral and justification (vetting) notes in the Radiology information system (RIS).
- Arrange direct day‑case admission and pre‑procedure clinic appointments for patients to the MRI and CT Radiology Suite.
- Liaise with specialty wards and medical secretaries to arrange admission for patients requiring a ward‑based day‑case or inpatient stay for treatment.
- Book examinations or treatments as defined by referral and justification notes on RIS or as instructed by the multidisciplinary team.

Job responsibilities- Admit and discharge patients using the iPM system, ordering and dispatching patient notes as required.
- Investigate non‑attendance of patients booked for admission and liaise with the multidisciplinary team to organise on‑day and future admission and appointments.
- Ensure all medical/nursing notes are complete, filed in the correct order and scanned into the Soliton procedural event.
- Track confidential patient documents and notes passing through the Interventional suite.
- Provide patient‑level admission data updates to the Radiology management team for daily communications and duty management.
- Support departmental meetings with minute taking and distribution of information as required.
- Assist in the management of departmental documentation including updating patient posters, information, internal contact numbers and diary updates.
