Overview
Residential Officer at the Iowa Department of Corrections, Fourth District in Council Bluffs, IA. In a 24-hour community-based corrections facility, you will be a direct service provider with high-contact interactions. You will help elicit and support pro-social behaviors through programming that fosters personal growth and reduces the risk of reoffending.
Responsibilities- Conduct facility security checks and searches
- Transport clients within the community
- Employ behavior change techniques, such as motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral strategies
- Support case managers and clients in achieving goals, considering individual needs, disabilities, trauma, and cultural responsiveness
- Respond to emergencies and apply appropriate safety measures
- Graduation from high school, GED, or equivalency
- Ability to work overnight and weekend shifts
