The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the mechanical maintenance of the facility in Council Bluffs, IA, including diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment and instruments.

Monday through Friday, day shift, with overtime and on-call as needed

Pay: $32.34 an hour

• Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines
• Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facility
• Complete emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service
• Detect faulty operations and defective material and report those and any unusual situation
• Perform welding including light fabrication of spouts, transitions, etc. from sheet metal including all positions (Stick, MIG and TIG)
• Rebuild pumps and gearboxes
• Inspect for conformity to industry standards or specifications
• Rebuild, repair and replace damaged, defective, or worn parts
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• General maintenance skills
• General troubleshooting skills
• Welding experience (Stick, MIG, and TIG)
• Knowledge of bearing installation and clearance setting
• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Experience with SAP maintenance software
• Experience with PLC, HVAC, and vacuum furnace
