Job Description:

Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit responsible for providing patient care to individuals with heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, and stroke. The role requires titration of drips such as Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitro, as well as reading and interpreting cardiac monitor strips. The unit is equipped with CPAP, and RNs are expected to troubleshoot this equipment. The position entails working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on teamwork and patient-oriented care.

Responsibilities:

• Pass/Fail exam on skills learned during orientation
• Titrate and manage medication drips
• Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips
• Provide direct patient care in a stepdown unit
• Float to ICU where appropriate and experienced

Requirements:

• Driver's license required at submittal for radius verification
• Prohibition of artificial nails in patient care areas
• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• BSN and active RN License required
