We're seeking an enthusiastic Lead Caregiver to join our team in Council Bluffs. This is more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives every day.

A Lead Caregiver provides high-quality direct client care while also mentoring caregivers, ensuring quality and consistency, covering shifts as needed, training new hires, scheduling shifts, updating care plans, and acting as a liaison, essentially combining hands-on support with leadership, problem-solving, and supervision to maintain high standards of care to our clients.

What You'll Do

As a Lead Caregiver
, you'll be the go-to between our clients and Care Advocates. Your mission? Ensure that clients receive reliable, compassionate care-on time, every time.

Primary

Job Duties
  • Providing direct patient care in the event that we have call-ins or when there are unfilled open shifts
  • Introduce caregivers to clients as needed
  • Build trusting relationships with clients and team members
  • Solve challenges with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Be a go-to resource for excellent service and support
  • Follow an on-call rotation every other weekend and one weekday
Secondary

Job Duties
  • Coordinate and optimize daily schedules for caregivers and clients as time allows
  • Maintain accurate records while juggling multiple priorities
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct personal care to clients, including assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, mobility, toileting, and feeding
  • Assist with medication reminders in accordance with company policy
  • Monitor clients' health status and report changes to supervisors or family members as appropriate
  • Lead, mentor, and support caregivers on shift to ensure quality and consistency of care
  • Coordinate schedules to maintain adequate coverage
  • Ensure care plans are accurately followed and updated as needed
  • Train new caregivers and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback as directed
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including care notes, incident reports, medication logs, and vitals
  • Promote a safe, clean, and respectful environment for clients and staff
  • Communicate professionally with clients, families, healthcare providers, and management
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Work Environment
  • May include private homes, assisted living facilities, or care centers
  • Flexible scheduling, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

  • Experience with dementia, hospice, and hoyer lifts

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and auto insurance at all times
