SummaryClinical Supervisors are experienced clinicians who promote the professional development and practice of agency therapists. They maintain a client caseload and dedicate a portion of time to supervision, ranging from 25% (supervising three FTE therapists) to 75% (nine FTE). A full‑time clinical supervisor typically oversees 12 FTE therapists.
CompensationBetween $58,000 and $73,376 per year, determined by total years of relevant experience.
Work ScheduleMonday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
Minimum Qualifications- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience as a therapist.
- Independent licensure in Iowa (LMHC, LISW, or LMFT) required.
- Credential as a CDAC/IADC preferred.
- Preferred supervisory experience with a multi‑faceted team.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Primary responsibility for clinical supervision of assigned staff, including hiring, performance evaluation, documentation, and quality improvement.
- Day‑to‑day clinical management of programs as assigned, covering crisis access, staffing, fidelity, and implementation of new models.
- Support clinicians in comprehensive assessments, diagnostic oversight, and treatment recommendations.
- Provide counseling services to individuals, families, and groups within treatment plans, monitoring progress.
- Maintain client clinical records with treatment plans, progress notes, and termination summaries.
- Demonstrate advanced clinical skills while managing a complex caseload.
- Provide crisis intervention as needed.
- Produce assigned level of direct service hours.
- Offer educational workshops, classes, and presentations on the organization’s model, values, and programs.
- Handle cases of the highest complexity and maintain relationships with external and internal providers for wraparound services.
- Collaborate with program area staff for clinician onboarding and ongoing support.
- Track and modify progress updates for clinicians, providing coaching and feedback.
- Oversee clinical requirements of third‑party payers and ensure accurate billing.
- Maintain communication with clinicians, adjusting supervision to their learning needs.
- Follow up on referrals to internal programs or community services.
- Promote a courteous and caring attitude toward clients, volunteers, and visitors.
- Adapt to changes in agency needs and collaborate with all staff.
- Abide by all program and agency policies and procedures.
- Participate in internal and external training opportunities.
- Maintain a self‑care plan and support clinicians’ work‑life balance.
- Assist in community outreach and fundraising efforts when possible.
- Perform all essential functions onsite at the company physical work site.
