Aboutthe Role
As part of the Human Resources team, the HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day HR operations with a focus on onboarding, compliance, employee relations, and HR systems administration. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a balance of tactical execution and employee support in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Onboarding & Offboarding- Manage the full onboarding process through HRIS, ensuring all employment documentation (I-9s, training acknowledgments, policies, etc.) is completed accurately and on time.
- Partner with managers to ensure a seamless first-week experience for new hires.
- Support offboarding, including separation documentation, coordination of final pay, and collection of company property.
- Maintain accurate and compliant employee records (digital and physical) and ensure data integrity within the HRIS system.
- Manage updates related to new hires, terminations, and employment changes.
- Protect confidentiality and uphold record retention requirements.
- Prepare HR reports and metrics, including headcount, turnover, and compliance data.
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality in all reporting processes.
- Assist with administering leave programs (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, etc.) and coordinate with employees and managers to ensure compliance and clarity.
- Support the workers’ compensation process, including claim intake, communication with employees and clinics, and ensuring timely resolution.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, maintaining professionalism, confidentiality, and consistency.
- Assist in documenting and supporting investigations in line with company policy and employment laws.
- Conduct periodic audits to ensure compliance with timekeeping policies and wage/hour regulations.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on timecard procedures and corrections.
- Respond to employee and manager inquiries regarding HR policies and practices.
- Support special projects, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives within the HR function.
- 3–5 years of experience in Human Resources; fast pace distribution, manufacturing, retail, or hospitality experience with employee population of 100+ is a must.
- BA, BS strongly preferred
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred
- Working knowledge of HR laws and regulations (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, COBRA, ACA, etc.)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
- Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling sensitive matters
