The Controller will oversee all financial operations of the company, combining strategic financial leadership with hands‑on accounting and in‑depth controller responsibilities. This role requires strong prior experience in accounting management, deep knowledge of internal controls, and a clear understanding of financial compliance in the cannabis industry or similarly regulated environments.

As the Controller, you will partner closely with the Rove's president, relying on previously developed controller skills to oversee daily accounting operations to ensure the accuracy of financial statements, prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements and manage budgets and financial forecasting to align expenses with projected revenues.

This position also requires strong managerial and team leadership skills as you will inherit a current finance team and infrastructure that will become yours to build and shape as you take the reins of the finance department at Rove.

• Develop and execute financial strategies that support company growth and long‑term objectives
• Provide accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis to executive leadership
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and long‑term financial planning
• Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and month‑end and year‑end close
• Ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Establish, maintain, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Manage audits, tax filings, and financial reporting requirements
• Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and manufacturing accounting

• Ensure full financial compliance with current cannabis regulations and reporting requirements in all current Rove states and under federal guidelines
• Oversee METRC‑related inventory accounting and reconciliation to financial records
• Monitor and ensure compliance with cannabis‑specific tax regulations, including 280E considerations
• Partner with operations and compliance teams to ensure accurate tracking of cannabis inventory, costs, and margins
• Support regulatory audits and inspections by providing accurate and timely financial documentation
• Stay current on evolving cannabis laws and regulations and proactively adjust financial practices as needed
• Lead, mentor, and develop the current accounting and finance team and identity keep ways current staff can grow and develop in their roles
• Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, and consultants
• Drive process improvements and financial system enhancements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance

• Collaborate with HR, legal, operations, sales & marketing, and supply chain teams to analyze margins, profitability, and performance
• Support pricing strategies, new product launches, and expansion initiatives through financial modeling and analysis

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA and/or MBA preferred)
