Senior Associate - State and Local Tax - Income

Senior Associates with our State & Local Tax (SALT) practice serve on various engagement teams that support a wide range of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to venture‑backed startups.

• Review and prepare state and local income/franchise tax returns
• Provide tax controversy audit support
• Assist in project management of compliance/consulting engagements and identify client solutions
• Conduct research to remain current with legislative changes
• Draft and review memoranda and additional client deliverables
• Assist with the preparation and review of Nexus Studies
• Supervise and mentor Associates and Interns
• Receive formal State & Local tax training, on‑job training, direct feedback from top tax leaders, and the opportunity to pursue additional training through internal and external resources

• 2+ years of relevant tax experience
• Bachelor’s and/or relevant advanced degree (MAcc, MST, JD)
• Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree (Preferred)
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Advanced credential or desire to obtain advanced credential that allows for IRS client representation (e.g., CPA, JD)
• Tax software proficiency (e.g., GoSystem Tax RS, CCH, etc.)
• Self‑starter with the initiative to seek out opportunities and the ability to work successfully in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environment
• Proficient use of technology

Our firm offers a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well‑being, growth, and long‑term success of our people. The expected base salary range for this role in Orange County is $100,000 to $130,000, determined by candidate qualifications, experience, and skill set.
