About the JobWe are looking for a Wind Tunnel Test Technician to join our rapidly growing team in Costa Mesa, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and managing the inner workings of the Test Wind Tunnel. This will require the ability to manage large capital equipment.
What You’ll Do- Support the execution of wind tunnel testing programs, installation of test assets and data acquisition systems.
- Maintain and ensure the calibration and readiness of the wind tunnel and associated instrumentation.
- Maintain lab spaces to a high level of organization and professionalism.
- Promote lab safety training and processes, fostering an environment and culture to promote safety as the number one priority.
- Travel to test sites and remote labs as needed.
- 5+ years of professional experience in an engineering technician capacity or similar.
- Hands-on experience operating different wind tunnels (e.g. open-circuit, closed-circuit, subsonic, blowdown).
- Hands-on experience with common aerodynamic sensors such as pitot tubes, PIV systems, and force balances.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding, flexible team environment.
- Eligible to obtain / maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
- Familiarity with NI Data acquisition system setup and collection, as well as running LabVIEW and Flex logger software.
- Demonstrated sense of drive and ability to work in cross-functional teams effectively.
US Hourly Range: $37 — $49 USD per hour. The salary range is an estimate based on compensation factors and may vary based on experience, education, and other considerations. Equity grants and comprehensive benefits are included in most full-time offers.
