We operate in a highly dynamic environment where collaboration and idea-sharing define our culture. We're seeking a Senior Operations and Sustainment Engineer to join Anduril's cutting-edge startup environment, driving forward the state-of-the-possible in surface autonomous robotics. WHAT YOU'LL DO
* Maritime Operational Planning:
* Lead site surveys to identify operational and logistical needs and maintain readiness across multiple concurrent programs and sites, including vessel and site security
* Support operational logistics across multiple autonomous surface vessels (ASVs)
* Coordinate closely with engineering, software, and autonomy teams to plan and resource deployments
* Interface with supply chain and external suppliers to assure availability of required assets
* Maintain proactive relationships with external partners, regulators, suppliers, and service providers
* Planning with supply chain to ensure vessel support equipment is allocated to support the correct projects
* Ensure safe and timely vessel operations, including development of Vessel Safety Management Plans and Vessel Security Plans
* Sustainment:
* Lead the planning and execution oversight of vessel maintenance and repair
* Ensure operational availability of deployed assets through logistical and spare parts planning, including consumables tracking and replenishment
* Act as primary logistics point of contact, establishing and managing relationships with pier-side and port service partners.
* Orchestrate large deliveries (vehicle, conex, spares, etc.), as well as pier-side support ops, including fueling, utilities, and maintenance
* On call to pull together short notice requests/needs
* Facilitate clear communication between onsite teams and internal stakeholders
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Proven leader and manager with a background in maritime operations and maintenance, with technical proficiency in at least one of the following disciplines:
Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Ocean Engineering.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to delegate, inspire, and foster a positive and productive work environment.
* Ability to adapt quickly and learn in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, and rapidly progress to in field expert in support of internal field test engineers and external government customers.
* Demonstrated ability to solve problems in unstructured situations and identify the right personnel mix to ensure mission success.
* Ability to develop complex operational and logistics plans to move people and things effectively, over long distances, in unfamiliar locations.
* Extensive hands-on (field operations, systems administration, or test) technical experience.
* Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams and government customers; demonstrated ability to collect differing opinions and reconcile them in order to achieve agreement.
* Willingness to travel (~25-35%), including significant time spent offshore on vessels of all sizes.
* Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience developing high level/strategic plans that support company objectives and government customer needs in the pursuit of deploying, fielding, and operating robotic system or family of systems.
* Demonstrated experience developing, maintaining, and executing operational procedures for a diverse set of equipment and systems.
* Experience with government acquisition and reporting processes and government contracts.
* Merchant Marine or US Navy operational experience
* Strong mechanical aptitude with tools and electronics
* Experience interfacing with government customers US Salary Range $146,000 - $194,000 USD The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
