The position requires utilization of formal related education and advanced experience to develop lectures and course content in the area of international business, including international public relations, government relations, international trade, diplomacy, and Latin-American affairs, conducting policy-relevant research in these areas, both individually and in collaboration with other scholars, and performing other duties as assigned.

The candidate will be engaged in the teaching of others and in work important to the advancement of our University mission, with the goal of continuing to attain mastery in the research discipline.

This position is offered only to particularly distinguished individuals who have demonstrated excellence in the applicable field. This position serves at the pleasure of the University’s President, and thus the position is often seen as more prestigious than an ordinary full professorship.

POSITION DUTIES
  • Conduct policy-relevant research on international public relations, international trade, diplomacy, Latin-American Affairs, individually and in collaboration with other scholars;
  • Utilize formal related education and advanced experience to develop lectures and course content for the Business School in the areas of international public relations, international trade, diplomacy, Latin-American Affairs;
  • Lecture at various undergraduate and graduate seminars on applicable topics;
  • Serve as a mentor to postdoctoral fellows as well as undergraduate and graduate students with related research interests;
  • Work closely in coordination with the Center Directors and with other researchers and faculty members within the University and across campus to promote excellence in the study of Political Science;
  • Utilize a combination of teaching methods for mentoring of full‑time faculty and/or students, remotely delivered synchronous or asynchronous instruction or onsite direct instruction at the University’s Campus or online training facilities;
  • Consult with University’s full‑time faculty members and University administrators related to curriculum development, lecture topics and research projects on applicable areas of expertise;
  • Work closely with the University’s instructional administrators to deliver exceptional learning experiences for faculty and students;
  • Assist with developing material to be presented as a guest lecturer in applicable research areas;
  • Conduct and seek publication of academic research papers as required by University administration. Independently conduct technical research. Prepare various reports containing descriptive, analytical, and evaluative content that may be submitted for publication;
  • Present research results in meetings, conferences, seminars and symposia;
  • Conduct research of the literature available in the field;
  • Conduct analyses of data. Interpret, draw conclusions, and present in lectures and other symposia;
  • Construct tests or assist in the construction of tests.
REQUIREMENTS
  • In order to meet the University’s accreditation requirement, and ensure rigorous curriculum offerings to our students, the University only employs individuals that are degreed professionals, but also highly qualified in their respective specialty field, particularly those individuals that are highly experienced and have received recognition for their outstanding contributions to their scholarly field.
  • Particularly, the University requires that each Scholar possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Arts degree in their field of expertise – in this particular case: a degree of Political Science or the equivalent experience is required. As well, the beneficiary must be considered a subject matter expert in the same.
  • Background in issues related to international relations with a demonstrated capacity for analytical and policy-relevant research in one or more of the following areas of interest: governmental relations, Latin-American Affairs, Diplomacy.
  • A bachelor’s degree in relevant social science discipline.
  • Evidence of outstanding potential for research and teaching.
  • Well‑developed conceptual and analytic skills and a proven ability to design and develop a program of independent research, courses, and outreach.
  • Extensive leadership experience.
