Thank you for your interest in Newport-Mesa Unified School District. Please make sure to attach the supplemental paperwork listed below before you submit your application, so it is considered and moves through the process. The following documents are required to be uploaded (attached) to move forward in the application process:
• A valid and current qualifying document issued by the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing (), such as:
• Emergency 30 Day Substitute Permit
• Prospective Teaching Permit (Only if applicant is a current NMUSD Student Teacher)
• CA Teaching Credential
• Multiple Subject
• Single Subject
• Education Specialist Instruction
• CA Pupil Personnel Services Credential Attach a copy of any of the above credentials or permit documents cleared by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
• 2 Letters of Recommendation

If you are not a fully credentialed teacher and you still need to apply for your Emergency 30-Day Substitute Permit or Prospective Teaching Permit, it is recommended that you apply through the Orange County Department of Education.

You can make an appointment to apply by visiting ocde.us/credentials. At the same time, you can also get your OCDE Clearinghouse Fingerprints, which are required to be a substitute

Comments and Other Information

This position will remain open all school year. If you are selected to move forward, you will be invited by email to attend a substitute orientation. A specific time and date to attend along with other necessary information will be included in the email. Orientations are held monthly.
