Position: .PT Faculty POOL - Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Overview

The Coast Community College District is a multi‑college district that includes Coastline Community College, Golden West College, and Orange Coast College. These colleges offer more than 300 transfer, general education, occupational/technical, community services, and student support programs and enroll over 60,000 students each year.

Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.
  • Maintain appropriate professional conduct and ethics.
  • Keep current knowledge in subject matter areas.
  • Fulfill all professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
  • Teach all scheduled classes, including day, evening, weekend, online, or off‑campus sessions.
  • Maintain accurate instructional records.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications
    • a. Valid California Community College instructor credential issued prior to July 1, 1990.
    • b. Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience.
    • c. Associate degree and six years of professional experience.
    • d. Or a combination of education and experience equivalent to the above. Equivalency applicants must submit an Application for Equivalency.
  • Desirable Qualifications
    • Recent community college or lower‑division teaching experience.
    • Expertise and professional experience in the subject(s) to be taught.
  • Evidence of sensitivity to, understanding of, and ability to manage a diverse classroom environment and provide effective instruction to students of varied academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds.
Conditions of Employment

Employment is part‑time, temporary, and contingent upon verification of employment history, background checks, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees. Hours and employment start dates will be arranged with the supervisor.

This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool; part‑time faculty applications remain in the pool for one year. Candidates will be contacted for interview scheduling as needs arise. Possession of the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview.

Regular attendance is essential; failure to meet attendance requirements may preclude remaining employed.

The holder of this position is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with policies and Title IX requirements.

Salary

Salary is based on Lecture Hour Equivalent in accordance with the current Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
