Overview
The Coast Community College District (CCCD) is a multi‑college district that includes Coastline Community College, Golden West College, and Orange Coast College. The three campuses serve more than 60,000 students each year in over 300 degree and certificate programs. Performance Responsibilities- Provide instruction in accordance with the established curriculum and course outlines.
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
- Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
- Teach all scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online, and/or off‑campus classes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must meet one of the following qualifications under (a) through (d):
- Valid California Community College instructor credential, appropriate to the subject, issued prior to July 1, 1990.
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution in women's studies.
- Master’s degree in one of the disciplines included in the interdisciplinary area and upper‑division or graduate coursework in at least one other constituent discipline from an accredited institution.
- Or possess a combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent to the above. Candidates must submit an application for equivalency with supporting documentation.
- Evidence of sensitivity to, understanding of, and the ability to manage the classroom environment and effectively serve community college students of diverse backgrounds.
- Recent community college or lower‑division teaching experience.
- Expertise and professional experience in the field of the course(s) to be taught.
- Part‑time, temporary position contingent upon verification of employment history, background screening, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees.
- Hours and effective date of employment will be arranged with the supervisor.
- Continuous recruitment for a pool of applications; part‑time faculty applications accepted year‑round and retained in the pool for one year.
- Regular attendance is an essential job function; failure to meet attendance requirements may result in termination.
- Position holder is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with related policies.

Compensation is based on Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) in accordance with the current Part‑Time Faculty Salary Schedule.
