About the Coast Community College District
The Coast Community College District (CCCD) is a multi‑college district that includes Coastline Community College, Golden West College, and Orange Coast College. The three colleges offer programs in transfer, general education, occupational/technical education, community services, and student support services. Part‑time/Temporary FacultyPosition Overview
These part‑time/temporary faculty positions provide flexible hours and the opportunity to assist a diverse group of adult students in achieving their educational goals. Positions are filled as needed and applicants should reside within commuting distance to Orange County.
Performance Responsibilities- Provide quality instruction in accordance with the established curriculum and course outlines.
- Create and maintain an environment emphasizing teaching, learning, and free discussion of ideas.
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
- Keep current knowledge in subject matter areas.
- Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part‑time/temporary faculty member.
- Teach all scheduled classes.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, online, and/or off‑campus classes.
- Valid California Community College instructor credential, appropriate to the subject, issued prior to July 1 , 1990.
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of professional experience.
- Associate degree and six years of professional experience.
- Or a combination of education and experience that is at least the equivalent of the above.
Note:

- Recent community college or lower‑division teaching experience.
- Expertise and professional experience in the field of the course(s) to be taught.
Employment is on a part‑time, temporary basis and contingent upon verification of employment history, background verification, eligibility to work in the United States, and approval by the CCCD Board of Trustees. Hours and effective date will be arranged with the supervisor.
This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill part‑time, temporary, hourly assignments on an as‑needed basis. Applications are accepted year‑round and remain in the pool for one year.
- Regular attendance is essential; failure to meet attendance requirements may preclude continued employment.
- Position holder is a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CCCD policies and Title IX.

Pay is based on Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE) in accordance with the current Part‑time Faculty Salary Schedule.
