McWane Poles is a product line of McWane, Inc., serving customers in the iron and ductile iron industries since 1921. Launched in 2008, the division has sold poles to over 250 utilities across the United States, providing engineered strength, dimensional consistency, and natural corrosion resistance. Ductile iron poles are impervious to rot, insects, and woodpeckers, highly fire‑resistant, and lighter than wood or concrete, making them cost‑effective to transport and install.

• Failure analysis
• Specification review
• Competitive analysis & TCO
• Answer technical questions
• Technical documents (test docs, white papers, etc.)
• Lead quality product testing
• Join and lead industry committees
• Develop and lead product training with sales & marketing teams
• Promote ductile iron versus alternative materials

First 3 months

• Learn core product offerings and master technical value propositions
• Shadow customer meetings and contribute to proposals and demos
• Build rapport with sales, product, and engineering stakeholders

By 6 months

• Independently manage technical discovery and demo calls
• Play a critical role in winning key deals through technical leadership
• Provide actionable feedback to product teams from real‑world use cases

By 12 months

• Drive or influence revenue targets through technical engagement
• Be recognized as a trusted internal and external expert on product capabilities
• Contribute to continuous improvement of technical sales processes and tools
• Join industry committees and present at conventions & expos

Required

• Minimum 5 years of power utility experience
• Quality experience (testing and product)
• Loading and modeling software experience
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Comfortable presenting to large groups
• Ability to travel as required
• Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering
• Valid driver’s license
• Remote work possible with regular office visits

Preferred

• Professional Engineer designation
• 10+ years of industry experience
• Understanding of pole industry and alternative materials
• Experience with PLS & Pole Foreman software
