This position is full-time (40 hours per week) with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8am–5pm.
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE- Assists practitioners in performing procedures, handling telephone prescription orders/refills, maintaining patient records, and relaying test results. Performs delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a physician or mid-level practitioner.
- The Cardiology team, comprising cardiologists, nurse practitioners, physician associates, and nurses, provides comprehensive care for heart health. We perform hundreds of interventional cardiovascular procedures annually, including stent placements, and stay current with cardiology treatment options. Services include coronary angiography, angioplasty, pacemaker insertions, implantable defibrillators, cardiac MRI, and more.
- Current unencumbered Oregon EMT or Paramedic license required.
- Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
- Experience or training in medical terminology preferred.
- Lab/EKG experience preferred.
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience preferred.
- Patient Care: Skills and knowledge to assist and care for patients, recognize symptoms, understand drug properties and interactions, and implement treatments within scope of practice.
- Adaptability/Flexibility: Ability to respond promptly to situations involving high-risk or diverse patient populations and adjust actions accordingly.
- Communication: Effective written and oral skills to explain complex issues, exchange information, and perform group presentations.
- Team Building: Ability to work cooperatively within a multidisciplinary team and develop constructive relationships.
- Medical Terminology: Knowledge of medical records, procedures, and terminology; ability to interpret policies and regulations.
- Social Perceptiveness: Ability to work with diverse populations, understanding age-related differences and demonstrating sensitivity and non-judgmental attitude.
- Rarely (1-10%)): Walking incline, lifting (floor to waist 0-36 inches, 40-60 lbs), pulling, climbing stairs, overhead lifting, squatting, kneeling, reaching upward, sitting, level walking, static squatting, trunk rotation, finger dexterity, grasping, pushing.
- Occasionally (11-33%)): Similar activities with lower weights and durations.
- Frequently (34-66%)): Activities such as reaching forward, bending, grasping, pushing with varying force, and manual dexterity.
- Continually (67-100%): Standing, walking, manual tasks, and other activities as described.
