Job Description

Surgical Technologist - Cardiac Open Heart

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position as a Surgical Technologist specializing in cardiac open heart procedures. You will function as a vital member of the surgical team in the operating room, working under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). You will assist in providing care to patients of all ages, ensuring quality nursing care.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in surgical procedures in the cardiac operating room.
  • Provide care to patients across all age groups, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
  • Ensure sterile techniques and procedures are maintained.
  • Collaborate with surgical staff and support a variety of provider specialties.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Current certification to practice surgical technology in Oregon.
  • Completion of a surgical technology education program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES or equivalent military training.
  • Certification as a surgical technologist issued by the NBSTSA or completion of the educational program within the past twelve months.
  • Minimum of one year scrubbing CVOR/Open Heart procedures or two years acute care scrubbing experience.
  • Completion of 16 hours of continuing education every two years relevant to surgical technology.
  • Preferred experience or training in computer applications.
Schedule

Varies, with rotating weekends. Call expected.
