Assists practitioner in the performance of procedures, telephone prescription orders/refills, maintaining patient records and relaying test results.
Department DescriptionSam Care Mobile Medicine is a mobile clinic focused on outreach to patients not currently engaging with a healthcare provider, within our communities and local schools. Services include preventative exams, immunizations, and treatment for minor illnesses and injuries. We bring convenient and affordable health care to residents and visitors of our communities.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Registered or Certified Medical Assistant required.
- Healthcare Provider BLS required.
- Previous medical back office experience/medical assistant training, or completion of a Medical Assistant/Certified Medical Assistant program preferred.
- Experience in applicable specialty area preferred.
- Lab/EKG experience preferred.
- Patient Care – Ability to recognize symptoms, drug properties and interactions, treatments, and preventive health‑care measures within scope of practice.
- Adaptability/Flexibility – Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to situations that may arise with high‑risk or diverse patient populations, and to adjust actions appropriately.
- Communication – Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues.
- Team Building – Ability to work, function and communicate on a multi‑disciplinary team, developing constructive and cooperative working relationships.
- Medical Terminology – Knowledge of medical records, procedures and terminology; ability to read, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
- Social Perceptiveness – Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics with sensitivity and non‑judgmental attitude.
- Occasionally (34‑66% of the time) – walking, lifting, kneeling, reaching, pushing, climbing stairs, squatting.
- Frequently (34‑66% of the time) – similar tasks as above.
- Continually (67‑100% of the time) – walking, lifting, kneeling, reaching, pushing, climbing stairs, squatting.
- Specific lifting limits:
Floor to Waist (0–36") – 40–60 lbs;
Knee to chest (24–54") – 20–40 lbs;
Pull – 0–20 lbs;
Overhead – 0–20 lbs; etc.
