Job SummaryOregon State University is seeking one full‑time Fiscal Coordinator 2 in its Financial Strategic Services department. The role supports the development and implementation of policies and procedures, performs complex multi‑fiscal functions (analysis, auditing, projections, payroll, budget management), and recommends financial solutions. The Coordinator communicates university policies to units, collaborates with directors, staff, faculty, and external vendors, and may coordinate the work of other staff members.
The incumbent reports to a Manager within Financial Strategic Services and operates autonomously within management’s parameters.
Key Responsibilities 65% Budget & Fiscal Analysis and Reporting- Conduct financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
- Create variance reports and provide solutions using detailed records and financial system data.
- Collect information, make recommendations, and implement budget decisions.
- Communicate budgetary and financial information to stakeholders.
- Prepare and evaluate fiscal reports (monthly/quarterly/year‑end, audit, projections).
- Guide other accountants on fiscal report preparation.
- Create, maintain, and modify reports using Excel, Banner, CORE, and/or Jaspersoft.
- Forecast and analyze revenue and expenditure trends.
- Monitor and reconcile various funds (Education & General, grants, self‑support, foundation).
- Interpret university and agency policies and apply them to accounts.
- Develop long‑range financial planning documents.
- Prepare and compile fiscal reports using financial information systems.
- Track errors, process correcting journal vouchers, and ensure proper audit trail.
- Process budget changes via journal vouchers or in coordination with the Accounting Service Center and the Office of Budget and Resource Planning.
- Oversee compliance with payroll, purchasing, travel, budget, and research regulations.
- Review and approve payments in Banner and/or Benny Buy.
- Coordinate fiscal year‑end closing activities.
- Respond to financial issues with customers.
- Participate in committees, work groups, and training activities.
- Assist in goal setting and metric monitoring within Financial Strategic Services.
- Provide backup support for managers and co‑workers.
- Suggest process improvements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- At least 24 quarter (16 semester) or 240 clock hours of accounting courses and three years of accounting experience, or a CPA/PA certificate and three years of accounting experience.
- Accounting experience must include at least eight of the following: policy development, system assurance, regulatory impact analysis, compliance, corrective action, report monitoring, financial statement preparation, spreadsheet and accounting software use, governmental and fund accounting, data analysis, audit application, communication, problem solving, budgeting, GAAP financial statements, and federal/state law compliance.
- All courses must be from accredited institutions; transcripts are required.

Office environment. May require overtime. Hybrid work schedule available upon approval.
