This recruitment will be used to fill eight part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Group Fitness Specialist positions for Recreational Sports at Oregon State University (OSU).

The Group Fitness Specialist reports to the Fitness and Wellness Formats Coordinator and is responsible for leading physical activity classes that are safe, effective, and inclusive. Group Fitness Specialists lead group fitness classes. They will provide education and outreach to the OSU community, including educational/promotional video segments, tabling with information about fitness and wellness programs and services, and instruction to participants involved in fitness programs.

Anticipated hourly rate: $17.16

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coach, motivate, and lead physical activity sessions by adapting instruction to diverse participant needs and goals.
• Develop and lead safe, effective programming that meets established format standards while evaluating participant feedback for continuous improvement.
• Attend and actively contribute to staff meetings and trainings to strengthen team cohesion and shared goals.
• Assist with department activities as assigned, supporting colleagues and organizational initiatives.
• Assist and encourage the initiation and maintenance of physical activity for participants and OSU community members of varying activity levels, experiences, and identities.
• Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that celebrates diversity and fosters belonging.
• Ensure equitable access to fitness equipment and resources by supporting organization, cleanliness, and appropriate use of shared spaces.
