Position Summary
This recruitment will fill two part-time (maximum 24 hours per week) Lab Assistant positions in the College of Agriculture, OSU.
The Specialty Crops Lab seeks a motivated Lab Research Assistant in the discipline of Industrial Crops. The applicant will collaborate with the PI, a Faculty Research Assistant, and graduate students on a range of research activities, including initiating trials, conducting observations, taking measurements, collecting and processing samples, operating instrumentation, entering data, updating the website and contributing to reports.
Responsibilities include managing bags of potatoes up to 50 lbs and working seamlessly within a team to bolster ongoing projects.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with and assist the PI, Faculty Research Assistant and graduate students on project initiation, observations, precise measurements, sample collection and processing, and data entry.
- Assist primary laboratory procedures and analyses, including cleaning and maintaining glassware.
- Support the Faculty Research Assistant and graduate students in preparing samples for experiments, evaluating reports, overseeing student submissions, and updating websites and databases.
- Manage bags or containers of potatoes weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible.
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard (high school: regular enrollment; undergrad & post‑baccalaureate: 6 credit hours per term; undergrad international: 12 credit hours per term; graduate: 5 credit hours per term; graduate international: 9 credit hours per term).
- Must possess a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence and successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check.
- Must be determined to be position qualified and self‑report convictions as per OSU Standard and .
- OSU will conduct a review of the National Sex Offender Public website prior to hire.
