This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OSU Standard ) as per OSU Standard et seq.

Position Summary: This recruitment will be used to fill 1 part‑time (a maximum of 10 hours per week) College of Science Ambassador positions for recruiting new students at Oregon State University (OSU). College of Science (COS) Ambassadors are current undergraduate students who represent COS through a variety of prospective undergraduate student recruitment events within the College of Science.
Position Duties- Conduct guided on‑campus tours – Must be available to conduct tours on Tuesday and Thursday between 12:30 and 2:30.
- Tours are outdoors throughout the year in all types of weather.
- Staff the COS tour desk and the information desk in the Dean’s Office and correspond with prospective students regarding visit opportunities.
- Answer questions via email and phone from prospective students, family members and others interested in Oregon State University and COS.
- Assist with COS recruitment activities/programs including large campus visit programs (Beaver Open House, Orange & Black Days, Juntos Family Day, etc.) and group tours. Some Saturdays may be required.
- Interact with other OSU ambassador groups.
- Have opportunities to work with COS marketing efforts to promote science at Oregon State University.
- Have opportunities to travel off‑campus for recruitment events and/or participate in multicultural‑focused recruitment events.
- Students may drive Motor Pool vehicles for recruitment or visit programs (not required for all).
- Must be academically enrolled in a high school, community college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study.
- Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment.
- Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard, including:
- High School student:
Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home‑schooling program. - Undergraduate and post‑baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term.
- Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term.
- Graduate student officially admitted to Graduate School: 5 credit hours per term.
