Job Overview

Student Registration Navigator – Corvallis Campus – part‑time. Provides late‑afternoon and evening support for student enrollment, registration, and onboarding processes. Works closely with LBCC staff and faculty to ensure incoming first‑time students receive a friendly, electronic environment and accurate instructions for course and training selection.

• Provide registration assistance and explain required processes to new students.
• Enter student enrollments into Banner and ensure accurate record maintenance.
• Respond to unexpected situations by assessing college resources and guiding students to appropriate courses and tools.
• Work directly with LBCC staff and faculty to ensure the academic needs of incoming students are met, maintaining a friendly, empathetic demeanor.
• Serve as the first point of contact for information, answers, and referrals for all questions from incoming first‑time students.
• Use available college information to guide students to appropriate courses and resources during their time as a student, introducing students to information contained in Web Runner.
• Perform duties of Navigator during absences and oversee part‑time staff for enrollment and registration questions, providing training involving phone and registration procedures and accessing Banner to retrieve student information.
• Access, update, and maintain accurate enrollment and other records, performing other related duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of related work experience in education, student services, training, or career planning, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to independently perform the essential duties of the position and to understand and interpret faculty instructions.
• Knowledge of instructional practices and techniques sufficient to develop academic plans for students.
• Computing skills sufficient to use application software and online resources.
• Commitment to work with students of diverse backgrounds and varying levels of ability.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adjust to changing environments.

• Experience using Banner and related college records software.
• Experience in individualized student scheduling and retention at a community college.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

• Keyboarding functions; use of computer and office equipment.
• Typical office setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards; considerable time spent working at a computer.
• Work is performed in an office setting; minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.

• Step 1 salary schedule for part‑time classified employees, with step increases at the end of the fiscal year.
• Pay incentive for proficiency in conversational Spanish (subject to administrative policy).
