Job Title: UX Prototyping Technologist (E-Commerce)

Location:

Corte Madera, CA – onsite schedule
Duration: 3-6 month contract with likelihood to extend
Pay Rate: $70.00-$74.00/hour

Role Overview

Our client is seeking a UX Prototyping Technologist to rapidly turn UX concepts into high‑fidelity, realistic web prototypes for executive review. Embedded within the UX Design team, this role enables fast decision‑making by allowing leadership to experience and approve UX direction before engineering investment begins.

What You’ll Do
  • Rapidly build executive‑ready UX prototypes (same day to 2–3 days)
  • Create realistic, semi‑functional web experiences that closely mirror production
  • Support major e‑commerce initiatives with approval‑ready prototypes
  • Develop reusable prototype components and workflows
  • Own the quality, speed, and realism of executive demo experiences
Core Responsibilities Prototype Development
  • Build high‑fidelity, front‑end web prototypes using hard‑coded solutions
  • Deliver realistic PDPs, navigation, funnels, and checkout‑adjacent flows
  • Optimize for large‑tablet (iPad‑class) viewports
UX Enablement
  • Partner closely with UX Designers to bring concepts to life
  • Enable fast executive feedback loops through experiential prototypes
Systems & Infrastructure
  • Build and maintain reusable component libraries
  • Own Netlify/Vercel prototype deployments and preview environments
  • Ensure clean, modular code and smooth handoff to engineering
Required Skills
  • Strong experience with React or Next.js
  • Proficiency in HTML/CSS for pixel‑accurate UX builds
  • Experience deploying via Netlify and/or Vercel
  • Ability to rapidly hard‑code realistic front‑end behavior (mock data, simulated flows)
  • Strong UX judgment and attention to detail
Nice to Have
  • Headless Shopify or custom storefront experience
  • Familiarity with design systems and component libraries
  • Accessibility and performance best practices
  • Experience working directly with executive stakeholders
