Pride Health is hiring a Medical Technician to support our client’s medical facility, based in Corry, PA 16407
This is a 3+ month contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Title: Medical Technician
Location: Corry, PA 16407
Schedule: 6p - 6a Monday & Tuesday and every other Saturday and Sunday (36hrs/week)
Pay Rate: $2300/week (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.) The rate is based on years of DIRECT EXPERIENCE as listed in the resume.
✅ Key Responsibilities:
- Process and analyze specimens according to laboratory procedures and department SOPs.
- Follow proper specimen handling, testing, reporting, and record-keeping protocols.
- Maintain records demonstrating that proficiency testing samples are handled in the same manner as patient specimens.
- Review and release test results in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Adhere to CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety guidelines.
- Document all quality control activities, instrument calibrations, procedural calibrations, and maintenance.
- Identify and resolve problems affecting test performance or results; escalate to senior staff when necessary.
- Document corrective actions for deviations from performance specifications.
- Report critical results according to departmental procedures.
- Respond to inquiries from clients or laboratory personnel as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all on-site testing.
- Ensure laboratory supplies, reagents, and test kits are properly labeled with receipt, expiration, and, if applicable, opening dates.
- Participate in training on new procedures and monthly department meetings.
- Follow all safety protocols, including knowledge of safety manual contents and proper use of safety equipment.
- Perform moderate-complexity testing with on-site training as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Education: BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology, or an Associate degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology preferred.
- Experience: 1–3 years of clinical laboratory experience preferred.
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple procedures simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to interact with other departments and clients.
- Commitment to patient confidentiality.
