Sandia View Academy (SVA) is seeking a passionate and mission-driven High School English Teacher to join our team. Located in the beautiful village of Corrales, just outside Albuquerque, Sandia View Academy is a small Christian secondary school serving students in a close-knit rural community. Our campus provides a peaceful learning environment with views of the Sandia Mountains and a strong sense of community among students, families, and staff.

This role requires a teacher who models Christ-like character
, integrates faith into daily instruction, and creates an engaging, hands-on classroom environment where students are actively involved in learning through discussion, projects, collaboration, and creative expression.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach high school English courses (grades 9–12) including literature, composition, and related language arts skills.
  • Design engaging and interactive lessons that include projects, discussion, and collaborative learning.
  • Integrate Christian values and Christ-centered character development into classroom culture and instruction.
  • Foster strong student writing, reading comprehension, and critical thinking skills
    .
  • Serve as a class sponsor
    , supporting student events, leadership activities, and school community life.
  • Assess student progress and provide meaningful feedback to support academic growth.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and administration.
  • Participate in school events, chapel programs, and community activities.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (teaching certification preferred).
  • Experience teaching secondary English or related coursework.
  • Commitment to Christian education and faith integration in learning
    .
  • Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
  • Ability to create creative, project-based, and student-centered learning experiences
    .
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to contribute to the life and mission of a small, mission-driven school community
    .
  • A member of the Seventh-day Adventist church in good standing.
