Scope
:
Ensure that all of the electrical requirements of the USS Lexington are met, comply with established safe procedures and are following the National and local Electrical Codes.

• Install, repair and maintain electrical equipment.
• Follow standard safe practices for the operation of electrical equipment
• Follow standard safe practices for the repair and installation of electrical equipment.
• Follow Electrical Safety Program to include procedures for inspection of portable appliances and for the tagging of circuits which present a potential personnel or equipment hazard.
• Participate in written and oral Electrical Safety lectures by supervisors.
• Follow the comprehensive maintenance program to provide for the care of all electrical equipment, thereby reducing the risk of equipment failure and personnel hazards.
• Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team as a Damage Control and Rescue Assistant. Must maintain a valid CPR certification.
• Must be competent to direct visitors.
• Must be capable of understanding and implementing the Lexington’s Safety Program.
• Must be capable of understanding and implementing the Lexington’s Heavy Weather Plan.
• Perform any other job duties as delegated by Chief Electrician or Chief of Maintenance.

License/Certification Requirements
:
Valid Texas driver’s license and an insurable driving record.

Work Environment
:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the environment is moderate, and may be exposed to chemical agents, plumbing supplies and fumes.

Physical Demands
:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is continuously required to sit; use continuous hand, arm and finger manipulation while performing the daily Assistant Plumbing job function; continuously walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and standing/walking on steel railways requiring balance.

Environment requires climbing steep stairwells, so comfortable clothing and shoes with non-skid soles are recommended. The employee is frequently required to lift up to 25-50 pounds. The vision requirements include: clear concise, close/distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year experience with working, repairing, and installing electrical equipment.
• Must maintain a valid CPR certification.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and an insurable driving record.
• Must meet the physical requirements of the job as indicated above.
