Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers; sells coffee; conducts coffee grinding and operates brewing equipment, accessories, and supplies; prepares and serves a variety of coffee drinks, along with premade food items.
Minimum Qualifications- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum three (3) months related experience.
- Valid Food Handler Certificate required.
- Track record of delivering exceptional customer experience.
- Approaches others in a tactful manner; reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepts responsibility for own actions; follows through on commitments.
- Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or special events.
- Meet operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients.
- Ability to perform many different tasks within the location during each shift.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- One (1) or more years of related experience.
- Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Certification.

Job Duties- Welcomes and greets every customer.
- Prepares café beverages according to standards.
- Follows College policy and procedures.
- Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
- Itemizes and totals takeout transaction on cash register and accepts payment.
- Follows DMC’s cash handling procedures and cash register policies.
- Stocks and replenishes merchandise and rotates stock.
- Performs cleaning tasks as assigned in daily opening and/or closing duties to maintain cleanliness standards.
- Observes safety and security procedures; determines appropriate action beyond guidelines.
- Reports potentially unsafe conditions.
- Treats people with respect; keeps commitments; inspires the trust of others; works with integrity and ethically; upholds organizational values.
