Purpose

A post-doctoral research associate position in the field of fish developmental biology, ecotoxicology and environmental health is available in the lab of Dr. Frauke Seemann at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC).

The team is looking for an experienced researcher who is willing to implement their expertise in a variety of projects from transgenerational toxicity to developmental biology in a welcoming and respectful environment, supporting the PI with student mentoring and proposal writing as well as leading own research projects.

Project Research

Percent Effort: 50%

  • Conduct research projects
  • Perform data analysis and summarize findings

Research acquisition and dissemination

Percent Effort: 35%

  • Assist with grant proposals
  • Generate publications

3:
Laboratory Management

Percent Effort: 15%

  • Supervise laboratory operations
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Doctorate in environmental toxicology, molecular biology, biomedical sciences, biochemistry, animal science or other closely related fields
  • Relevant publication record
  • Experience with omics data analysis and animal husbandry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in animal exposure experiments, cell sorting, single cell sequencing, epigenetics, molecular biology, and omics skills are considered advantageous.
  • Research experience in toxicology and embryonic development.
