Responsibilities- Maintain grounds of industrial, commercial, or public property such as buildings, camps, picnic grounds, parks, playgrounds, greenhouses, airfields, and athletic fields.
- Repair structures and equipment: cut grass with batwing mowers (over 2000 lbs.), trim hedges and edges around walks, flowerbeds, and wells.
- Fasten and adjust attachments (graders, plows, rollers, mowers over 2000 lbs., backhoes, seeders, disc harrows) to the tractor, lubricate, and perform minor repairs such as tightening bolts, replacing washers, cotter pins, and screws.
- Operate industrial‑grade tractors with batwing shredder attachment within the controlled movement area of an airfield.
- Use hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools to prune shrubs and trees, shape growth, use shears and hand tools, spray lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer or insecticide.
- Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs; water lawn and shrubs during dry periods using hose or sprinkler system; pick up and burn/carts away leaves, paper, or other litter.
- Remove snow from walks, driveways, roads, or parking lots using shovel and snow blower; spread salt on walkways and other areas.
- Maintain logs of usage, maintenance, and operational activities of equipment; use a string trimmer and backpack blower.
- Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
- Adhere to Operations Security (OPSEC) standard operations procedures;
Property Control Plan for management of Government Furnished Property (GFP); and safety and health program complying with EM 385‑1‑1 and applicable OSHA, DOD, Federal, state, and local requirements. - Perform other tasks as directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor.
- Complete and maintain certification to operate a vehicle on the airfield.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
