Acute med/surg/telemetry experience with 1+ years within the last year
Ability to care for 4-6 patients at a time
Description:
The unit has a total of 22 beds and a staff of 30.
Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 PCAs, and 1 unit secretary, with 0-2 sitters as needed.
Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 1-2 PCAs, and 0-2 sitters as required.
Patient ratios are a maximum of 6:1.
Equipment used includes standard EMR Meditech.
Typical procedures performed on the unit include care of med/surg/telemetry patients.
Standard nursing skills required include IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration, and communication with all team members.
Documentation in the electronic health record is necessary.
Additional skills such as continuous bladder irrigation, NGT insertion/maintenance, and EKG interpretation are essential.
The ideal candidate will have a friendly, positive, patient-centered, and team-focused personality.
Flexible weekend availability is needed.
